In order to continually promote and educate ourselves about the Chicana/Latina culture,
Phi Lambda Rho Sorority organizes fun, educational and interactive events year-round. We
have educational events open to the public with the aim of promoting our distinctive cultura
and we also organize exclusive events for sisters to share and continue practicing Latin customs.

Phi Lambda Rho sisters know that nuestra cultura is an essential part of us and our distinct backgrounds have helped shape our many young, ambitious and proud Rhosas, each with
their own dreams and aspirations. Phi Lambda Rho is the ONLY sorority on the UCLA campus and in the nation that has "Promotion of the Chicana/Latina Culture" as an objective.

"You are a strong, independent, beautiful, and intelligent woman of color and you can do whatever you want"

In order to continue celebrating our rich cultural heritage, Phi Lambda Rho Sorority sisters organize cultural dinners, educational tours of Latin American exhibitions as well as cultural events on UCLA's university campus. Past events have included traditional celebrations of events such as "Dia de los Muertos", Semana de la Raza and Festival Latino. Rhosas have also enjoyed participating in unique events such as cultural dances and pinata-making activities with children.

In recognizing our varied cultures, historical roots, struggles and accomplishments, Rhosas are continually motivated to continually represent the Chicana/Latina culture in the best light while educating the public about our culture's rich history.

Phi Lambda Rho Sorority also recognizes that culture is an ever-fluctuating concept and that our strength lies in diversity. For this reason, our sorority is a Latina-based sorority which welcomes other cultures, ethnicities and peoples who wish to share and learn with us the beauty in cultural pride.
